Day 1 was a long journey: it's more 33 hours + of no sleep, with lots of transit in that time. From Edmonton to Calgary, and from London to Manchester to Hathersage. After 8 hours since my last meal (airplane food), this italian ciabatta while I wait for my next connection to Hathersage is divine! But the Peak District is everything I hoped it would be. Hathersage is a small town but it is filled with beautiful little gems everywhere you look. It's not difficult to see why Charlotte Bronte was inspired when she wrote Jane Eyre in Hathersage, and why other art is as well. It's romantic and peaceful and so quintessentially English.
